OUR MINDS ARE BLOWN...
HOW HONEY COMBATS CANCER...
AP·OP·TO·SIS
Apoptosis is cellular death which is necessary for an organism's growth. What happens when apoptosis does not occur? Cells proliferate unnaturally and unhealthily, forming a tumor. Cancer treatments are geared towards inducing apoptosis of cancerous cells.

Recent studies have shown that honey causes apoptosis in various types of cancer... Wow.
INfLAMMATION
Chronic inflammation is linked to cancer growth. Phenolic compounds in honey express an anti-inflammatory response in the body. Inflammation is actually the root cause of many common ailments, including many of our daily aches and pains!
IMMUNOMODULATORY ACTIVITY
A strong immune system is crucial for disease prevention. While cancer cells regularly occur in the body and are handled by the immune system on a daily basis, a weakened immune system could result in cancer-cell growth and metastization (the spread of cancer).
"Honey stimulates antibodies, B and T lymphocytes, neutrophils, monocytes, eosinophils, and natural killer cells (NK-cells) production during primary and secondary immune responses in tissue culture [59–62]. It has been shown that honey stimulates macrophages, T-cells, and B-cells to provoke antitumor effect [59]."

In other words, honey supports your immune function which helps your body combat cancer from growing.
WHAT ELSE?
Honey is antioxidant rich, antimutagenic, can help to modulate estrogenic activity (important for estrogen related cancers). More research is needed in order to understand how to apply honey to cancer treatment but one thing is for sure: honey is a great preventative tool to help reduce our risk of developing cancer.
PREVENTION IS THE KEY
At OBTC we are all about taking control of our health by living a preventative lifestyle. Diet and exercise are an important part of prevention of ALL diseases and common ailments. We encourage you all to get outside in nature because sunshine is anti-microbial and nature reduces stress levels, which in turn reduces risk of disease. We encourage you to gently exercise because it improves circulation which enhances the function of the whole body and will uplift your mood. We encourage you to eat nutrient dense foods that contribute to your body's strength and longevity.
