Maté Tea
a medicine as old as time
Maté (ma-tay) was originally consumed by the Guaranà people of South America. The Guarani people traditionally consumed the leaves by chewing them, as the leaves gave them energy. Later, they would use a gourd as a cup and a small filtered straw (bombillas) to drink maté infused water. Yerba Maté is vibrant and grassy like green tea, but has similar caffeine levels to coffee. Maté drinkers enjoy an energetic buzz that is a great stimulant for conversation and ideas.
