💫 SHINING THE SPOTLIGHT
Maize's Favorites + Tips and Tricks
🌿 🌿 🌿
This month we are shining the spotlight on Mazie, a tea slinger from our Golden, CO crew! Maize's favorite part about about being on the team is giving samples of tea to customers and educating them about the health benefits. Maize says that watching the positive reactions people have after trying our unique blends (even when they say don't like tea at all) is an incredibly rewarding experience! Maize is a loving and sweet person and we are so grateful to have them as part of our tea family.
This sketch of Maize was created by me, Hannah, based on a photo provided by Maize. Post a photo of yourself drinking tea, tell us about your favorite blend and tag us on Facebook or Instagram. I'll choose one person each month to sketch with their favorite brew to share on our social!

Chinese Milk Oolong

This dairy free, classic, full leaf tea is naturally creamy and subtly sweet! It is energizing for the body and mind and is rich in antioxidants.

Maize describes this tea as feeling like they have been transported to a foggy magical forest when they drink it. ✨

Chinese Milk Oolong

Maize recommends adding 2 tsp of Chinese Milk Oolong to an infuser and steeping in hot water for 4 minutes. They like to add a tad of Orange Blossom honey and a bit of steamed oat milk to bring out the tea's natural creaminess. Maize also recommends using Chinese Milk oolong to make boba tea with!

At Old Barrel Tea Co. we celebrate and nourish our health in all ways. We asked Maize what their favorite way to practice self-care is and this is what they said:

"I listen to some classic rock and go on a hike! Get out in nature. It's much better than sitting inside. Even if it’s raining or snowing, I'm probably outside."

MAIZE'S FAVORITE SPICES

Vietnamese Cinnamon

"I use this all the time in my protein smoothies to make them taste better. I also love to make tapioca pudding and adding a little cinnamon to it!"

Serbian Blend

"I love to use this blend on roasted vegetables. Preferably, Brussels sprouts."

African Spice

"The bold flavors in this spice pair extremely well with chicken to make the meat less bland. A healthy dose of the African Spice and then grilling the chicken can reveal some insane results."
