Build healthy habits at work.
Listen to your body.
Does your back hurt at the end of your work day? Maybe your butt falls asleep while sitting? Or do your eyes start to twitch after looking at your computer all day? Your body is desperately trying to tell you something and you should listen to it!
As soon as your body gives you the cue, pivot however you can: stand up, take a break, stretch it out or get moving. Opt for walking meetings, a standing desk, an exercise ball rather than a desk chair and DEFINITELY wear your blue light blocking glasses.
If your job calls for lots of movement and activity by nature, make sure to to go easy on yourself. Keep good form when lifting/moving, and stretch and take breaks when you need them.
Whatever your line of work, make sure your attire is comfortable enough to stretch/move in.
You were not made to be sedentary.
Make your work space a sanctuary.
Does your desk become cluttered with junk? Try treating your workspace like you were borrowing it. You would never leave smelly food in the trash of someone else's office overnight or leave your personal belongings in disarray on someone else's desk (right?). If you struggle to keep your workspace in order, you might try allocating a small chunk of time each day for tidying/organizing or set a repeat reminder in your phone prompting you to tidy up.
Also, love up your space with plants, candles, photos that make you smile, books that inspire you, an essential oil diffuser, healthy snacks, your favorite teas, etc... Your workspace should be a sanctuary for you to get creative, feel energized and fuel your passion.
Look around your work space and take note of how it makes you feel, then make your plan to modify.
Good luck friends!
