SHAKE VS. THE REAL DEAL
Tea bags usually consist of tea dustings, leftovers after all of the loose leaf tea companies have picked out the full and beautiful tea leaves. With loose leaf tea you get a bolder flavor and the full nutritional value of the leaf. With tea bags, you get shake.

But we use tea to define a wide variety of herbs, regardless of the source plant. So, what exactly is tea?
A MIND ALTERING BREW
Tea is used to define any plant we brew into a beverage. Traditional tea is made from the Camellia sinensis plant- a medicinal plant that produces both physical and mental effects such as soothing aches and pains, reducing anxiety, elevating awareness, and improving mood. Many other herbs, which in the tea industry are referred to as tisanes, are brewed to make what most people would also call tea. This is very much an American colloquialism though. In other countries, the word that reflects the most widely consumed brew is the word used. For example, in Serbia, any brew is commonly referred to as "caj" (chai) - whether it is plain chamomile or a dynamic and spicy masala chai blend. Regardless of how we refer to these wellness enhancing brews, infusing plants into a beverage is pretty magical for our health and has interesting effects on our mind.
