THE HISTORY:

Peppermint has been used in cooking and herbal medicine for thousands of years, and dates back all the way to 1500 BC. In an ancient Egyptian medical text called Ebers Papyrus, mint is listed as calming to stomach pains. Mint was so valued in Egypt that it was also used as a form of currency.

HEALING PROPERTIES OF PEPPERMINT

Peppermint is known for its primary active ingredient, menthol, which provides a cooling sensation, and is an expectorant and decongestant. It is used to help treat many respiratory ailments, including asthma, bronchitis, sinusitis, and coughs.

Peppermint can stimulate memory and improve focus, making it a great study buddy, and it can soothe headaches, relieve tension, and boost energy.

PEPPERMINT

BREW TIPS:

Peppermint is lovely served hot or iced, unsweetened, or with a spoonful of honey.

Try blending with Lemongrass, Sencha Green Tea, Guayusa, or Mocha Mate.

STEEP:

1 - 2 teaspoons in 8 oz of hot water for 5 - 10 minutes
