SHINING THE SPOTLIGHT
🌿 Bret's Favorites + Tips and Tricks 🌿
This month we are shining the spotlight on Bret, the leader of the Durango tea slingers! While he oversees the day to day operations of the store, his true passion is tea itself. Whether that is working on new blends that he can enjoy or recommend to others, he's lovin' every second. Bret jokes that when anyone that gives him a chance to start talking about tea, they will be in the store for much longer than they anticipated! He loves sharing tea's history, exploring the health benefits of various infusions, and finding clever ways to describe the flavors and aromas of his favorite brews. Bret's passion and upbeat attitude shines in the store and brings his team together.
Read more on Bret's favorite teas and spices, as well as his tips and tricks on how to make the perfect cup of tea.

Jasmine White Monkey is Bret's best friend. Here's why:Â
"It is a perfect example of a high quality green tea, with light floral notes that just makes you feel amazing. I find it is the perfect level of caffeine and calmness that prepares me for the day both mentally and physically."
STEEP:
Bret recommends steeping for 2.5 minutes at 175℉, and enjoying hot and unsweetened.
HEALTH BENEFITS OF THE BLEND:
This blend is happiness in a cup, is packed with brain boosting antioxidants, and is a metabolism booster.Â
At Old Barrel Tea Co. we celebrate and nourish our health in all ways. We asked Bret what his favorite way to practice self-care is and this is what he said:
"#1 is being with my people. I have an incredible group of friends and family that take care of me. If I am able to spend time with them, I am happy. Other than that, I have been training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and riding my bike. I ride my bike with my dog too, so that's AWESOME!"
WARM ∙ SWEET ∙ SPICY
Our Vietnamese Cinnamon rings in as Bret's favorite OBTC spice. Here's why: cinnamon is tree bark, which in turn makes ground cinnamon the world’s most delicious sawdust. So what makes Vietnamese cinnamon the most delicious cinnamon? Vietnamese Cinnamon has a remarkably high oil content, delivering a deliciously hot flavor that is noticeably sweet and rich!
RECOMMENDATIONS FROM BRET ON HOW TO USE:
Sprinkle in coffee, dark teas, oatmeal, and desserts like chocolate cake, cinnamon rolls, snickerdoodles, and apple pie.
