Celebrating 6 Years, 7 Locations, And Lots of Love

The Original OBTC Location

This month is extra special for OBTC-it marks our tea company's 6 year anniversary! We opened our first location in the quiet little town of Ruidoso, NM. We started with just 12 types of tea and a whole lot of passion. Our family-owned and operated company soon turned into an attraction for people from all walks of life to learn about and enjoy loose leaf tea. We were so excited to have the chance to share our passion for wellness in this charming mountain town.

Today we have an amazing team of people spread across 7 different locations in New Mexico, Colorado and Arizona who are passionate about tea and celebrating a wellness-oriented lifestyle.

Vintage OBTC Tea Tin Label Discount

To celebrate the 6th anniversary of the opening of our first location in Ruidoso we are reminiscing on our continuous growth as a company throughout the years and are inviting you to bring in an old tea tin label to any of our stores to get 15% off your purchase! The labels have changed throughout the years, so just as long as the label you bring in is not the most current, we will consider it "vintage"!

Our Ruidoso, NM OBTC Location

Caitlin, who is the Ruidoso location's manager, gave us the inside scoop on what makes this location unique, the awesome staff and products to look out for in our little mountain town hideaway store.

The community of Ruidoso is made of people who love the outdoors and care about the small business that help the community thrive all year long. When you walk into the Old Barrel Tea Co in Mid-Town, Ruidoso you are immediately immersed in a sunshine-y and cozy environment and greeted by staff who are highly knowledgeable and incredibly friendly.

This staff team is fun-loving, charismatic and hard working, and their collective favorite thing about working here is that they receive an overwhelming amount of support from the locals and their friends and family always come in for their tea fix.

Ruidoso's location is popular for our SerendipiTEA Candles, as they have been a staple in our business since it started. Dana, the matriarch of the tea-family, hand pours these beauties, and customers gush over them.

OBTC was made from creators, so we love to support other local creators in our own stores. Sol Y Luna is a small craft business based out of Las Cruces, NM and is also female-owned and operated just like us! Mew and Company is also one of our favorite local brands we carry in our stores, and they specialize in homemade prints and cards. Follow them on Insta or Facebook!

We're a female run, family business.
We drink tea and tisanes for breakfast, lunch, dinner and all the time in between.
We don't put our pinkies up while drinking tea.
We use honey in our tea, but we also use honey as medicine & for skin care.
We love to cook & we love to eat.
We're flavor obsessed & wellness oriented.
We are united by the hedonistic belief that wellness should be a pleasure.
Happy tea time friends!
